Tijl and the Ninth of Beethoven

Although TV personality Tijl Beckand has no musical training and cannot read music, his ultimate dream was to conduct Beethoven's huge Ninth Symphony.  He chose Maestro Jules as his coach and recently this miracle happened with the Residentie Orkest (The Hague Philharmonic), the Amsterdam Toonkunstkoor and an ensemble of renowned  soloists. The bizarre, sometimes nerve-racking voyage of no less than two and a half years and the concluding concert can be followed in a seven-part TV series (AVROTROS) on Dutch Public Television.
